ARTIST BIO
Kelsey Cronin-McKenna is a potter based in Southern New Brunswick and operates under the name of Kelsey Eleanor Studio.
Drawing inspiration from her childhood home near the Rocky Mountains and New Brunswick's forests and nearby Atlantic Coast, Kelsey's work is a reflection of the organic shapes and textures found in the natural world. Known for her love of wavy lines, "squiggles", Kelsey incorporates these shapes into her work to create a signature style with a playful feel.
Working primarily with mid-range stoneware and glazes, Kelsey strives to create meaningful work that inspires a sense of comfort and presence, ultimately helping to enrich life's everyday moments.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
Growing up, my parents always registered me for one sport and one creative activity...usually art classes. Fast forward to university: I studied engineering and often struggled to turn off in the evening. I reflected back to my childhood art classes and how much I enjoyed them, and decided to sign up for a pottery night class at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design (NBCCD). The rest, as they say, is history!
I currently live in Rothesay, New Brunswic and work out of my home studio. I love being so close to the ocean and find endless inspiration in New Brunswick's coastal landscape. My work is handmade in small batches with a focus on quality and timeless design.
